2016 Shamrock Run

March 13, 2016

RSB was once again the “Race Start/ Major” sponsor at this year’s Shamrock Run, held on March 13th. This event was started back in 1988 in the hopes of creating a “flat, fast and first class race” that would precede Kingston’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, with cheering fans lining the roadside between Academy Green and ending at the foot of Broadway in the Rondout district. It is believed to be the largest race between New York City and Albany and a great way to get folks out in the spring and into running.

Scheduled for Sunday, March 13th, it’s a two-mile Family Fun Run that has had up to 4500 runners; this year they hope to hit 5000 and are attempting to set the World Record for runners in kilts!

The Post Race Party was held at the Rondout Neighborhood Center on Broadway in Kingston and prizes were randomly drawn from all registered runners at the Post Race Party – the Grand Prize was two roundtrip tickets to Ireland!
