Rondout Savings Bank Names Leslie Sewell Ulster Branch Operations Supervisor, Heather Hart Branch Manager
September 1, 2015
Rondout Savings Bank recently announced of the promotion of Leslie Sewell to Operations Supervisor and Heather Hart to West Hurley Branch Manager. Hart has filled the role formerly held by Sewell. The two collaborated during the transitional period.
“I worked with Heather for two weeks and was able to introduce her to our clients in West Hurley,” Sewell said. “The transition with customers went really well. Together we worked with branch employees and customers to further streamline the transition.”
Sewell said she is eager to start her new position as Operations Supervisor, adding that Hart is ideally suited to take over her former Branch Manager position. Hart’s new duties will include taking on the responsibility for increasing deposits, referrals, and loan applications. Hart’s qualifications include past customer service and assistant branch manager roles. The new Operations Supervisor said the transitional period was productive, and she can now move forward with Hart leading the team at the West Hurley Branch.
“Having been in banking for 20 years, I look forward to bringing all of my past experiences to my new position,”
She will now be responsible for the overall operations of the back office and maintaining excellent customer service and professionalism.
Hart said the time spent with Sewell meeting clients, reviewing sales tracking reports, and being introduced to the staff was essential to allow for the seamless transition to the position. Hart added she is motivated to work with the West Hurley staff because of the strong community ties the employees have and Sewell’s legacy of leadership.
“I will continue with Leslie’s exemplary customer service focus,” Hart said. “As the West Hurley Branch Manager, I will continue to train and develop the tellers to recognize sales opportunities. I am very impressed by the staff and their efforts, such as account openings and visiting potential businesses. I am looking forward to meeting more local business owners and the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce – showing them how a small community bank differs from its competitors.”
Sewell has been with Rondout Savings Bank since August 2011 as a Teller, Branch Operations Supervisor, and Branch Manager. In September 2014, she started the Ulster Leadership Development Institute sponsored by the Ulster County Chamber of Commerce. “I am very excited to be a part of this year’s class as there are some new and exciting things we are starting,” she stated. Sewell lives in Highland with her husband and two children, ages 6 and 11.
Heather Hart, a Saugerties High School graduate, has been in banking since 2010. She started at Rondout Savings Bank’s Ulster Branch as a Customer Service Representative in July 2013. In August of 2014, she was promoted to Ulster Assistant Branch Manager. Hart enjoys spending time with her husband and golden retriever. She completed the NYC and Chicago Marathons and several half marathons. “I’m hoping to incorporate my passion for running and dogs into my community involvement in the West Hurley area,” she stated.
