Rondout Savings Bank’s 150 Ways of Giving Benefits Semper Fi Parents of the Hudson Valley in July
August 31, 2018
In honor of Rondout Savings bank’s 150th year anniversary a Calendar of Giving program was created. Throughout 2018 a different local non-profit organization is chosen each month, fostering community engagement and financial support. In each of the bank’s seven locations, donation boxes are in the lobbies keeping the spirit of community alive throughout the year. This momentous year will include many events recognizing and thanking our community.
The month of July featured Semper Fi Parents of the Hudson Valley, a volunteer organization that works to support our military heroes and their families. Rondout Savings Bank collected individually packed food and personal items for the non-profit organization to create care packages.
In early August, the bank dropped off their collected items to Joanne Petersen, President of the organization. The bank was able to collect over 550 items to donate, including 202 items from the Uptown Branch alone! The organization will be using the items in November at the Poughkeepsie Galleria to make care packages to send to the military.
