Rondout Savings Bank’s President and CEO Delivers Donation to The ARC of Ulster- Greene

July 16, 2018

KINGSTON, NY, July 16, 2018
Rondout Savings Bank is continuing to mark their 150-year celebration with their Calendar of Giving program. A different local nonprofit organization is featured each month, fostering community engagement and financial support. In each of the bank’s locations, donation drop-offs are featured in the lobbies keeping the spirit of philanthropy alive throughout the year.

In June, the bank featured The Arc of Ulster-Greene, a private not-for- profit agency founded in 1956 by families in Ulster and Greene Counties who believed that their children with disabilities should have the same opportunities as their peers. The Arc provides individualized services to every person, featuring a broad range of innovative and effective programs designed to foster independence, productivity, and participation in community life. Rondout Savings Bank had collection boxes in each of their seven locations, collecting art supplies for this nonprofit organization.

“We are proud to support The Arc and the great work they do to help people with disabilities have opportunities to experience full lives,” remarked Cheryl Bowers, President and CEO of Rondout Savings Bank. In early July, the bank dropped off their collected items to The Arc’s
Business Development Officer Gary Bellows and Lori McCabe, Director of Communications and Public Relations—a total of 145 art supplies were delivered. The Arc’s art program provides people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) the opportunity to explore artistic
mediums, such as painting, drawing, and sculpture.
